Look at all my talent

I was going through some old stuff the other day, cleaning out the garage, when I came upon this book I wrote when I was 7 years old for literally no reason at all.

This book is just one of many “captivating” works of fiction my young brain cooked up, but clearly, my grandpa and his computer got ahold of this one. We were all together for Christmas that year, and when I showed my family a penciled draft of my creative writing, my grandpa took it to his computer for an upgrade. (Do keep in mind it’s 1997 so, I’m pretty proud of the man).

He kept all the spelling the same and didn’t change a single word. He even added my “illustration” of everyone living happily ever afterΒ at the end (those are fireworks going off above the house if you couldn’t tell, and you probably couldn’t).

It takes all of 8 seconds to read so, please enjoy:

Really gripping content, I know.

But I thought it would be fun to share some of my first attempts at writing. It certainly proves that I have been writing since before I could spell, and I think this blog proves that I have no intention of quitting anytime soon.

There’s also plenty more where that came from, so maybe I can share another someday soon. Maybe I can even find one with an actual plotline…
